The 'American Idol' judge thanks the Tesla CEO for 'the delivery' as she poses next to her brand new Tesla Cybertruck in a new photo amid a safety recall on the vehicles.

AceShowbiz - Katy Perry has been mercilessly trolled online after she promoted Elon Musk's Tesla Cybertruck. The singer/songwriter has been ridiculed by social media users after she showed off her brand new car amid the Cybertruck recall.

On Monday, April 22, the pop star took to her X, formerly Twitter, account to share a picture of her posing next to her Cybertruck. In the image, she modeled next to the vehicle while wearing a plum high-fashion look designed by Francesco Murano from the Agora collection styled by Tatiana Waterford.

"thx for the delivery," so the "American Idol" judge wrote in the caption, tagging Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, and adding the hashtag "#idol." Musk, who also owns X, replied to Perry's post, "Looks good."

However, many were not impressed by Perry's flexing post as nearly 4,000 trucks are currently under recall. "It's not too late to delete this," one user weighed in on the singer's tweet. Another quipped, "Make sure to check the gas pedal first, Katy."

A third user advised the "Dark Horse" singer, "Girl it's recalled send it back!" A fourth enthused, "Imagine getting one delivered the day of the recall..." A fifth user warned the mother of one, "Don't put your kid in anything that guy sells."

"ugliest vehicle ever," someone blasted the car, before advising Perry, "Also, if Elon is your idol, you need to re-evaluate your life choices." Another echoed the sentiment as asking, "Why are you associating yourself with him? Not a good look Katy." Someone else concluded, "this is the biggest sign i've seen yet that this thing must not be doing all that well."

The car, which boasts its durable exterior, spacious interior, and advanced technological capabilities, retails for $42,990 up to $77,990. However, a recall order was made last week after weeks of reports and viral videos of Tesla Cybertruck owner complaints.

The recall order applies to vehicles manufactured from November 13, 2023 until April 2024 due to defective accelerator pedal. Musk addressed the recall, explaining that they simply wanted to be careful and ensure driver and passenger safety.

"There were no injuries or accidents because of this. We are just being very cautious," he clarified. Tesla is offering recall repairs free of charge.
