The 'Dark Horse' songstress speaks up after AI-generated photos of her in a couple different floral-esque outfits spread on social media though she does not attend this year's event.

AceShowbiz - Katy Perry skipped the 2024 Met Gala, but her presence at the event is somehow still felt by her fans, thanks to AI. Photos of the singer that purported to place her at the high-fashion event went viral on Monday, May 6, just as the event is underway.
The pictures featured the "Firework" singer in a couple different floral-esque outfits. In one version of the fake snaps, she donned a light beige embroidered gown with flowers and a moss trim to fit the theme "Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion".
Her long black locks reached her waist and were styled in light waves with a middle part. She wore minimal makeup and a light red lip. The photo looked realistic enough that more then 9.6 million people have viewed it while 56,000 have reshared it.
Duped fans were in awe of Katy's alleged look at the Met Gala, with one writing, "My favorite [look] so far." Another realized it's fake, but commented on it, "This is AI, but would have definitely been one of the best looks if it were real."
Katy was apparently soon flooded with questions about her purported appearance at the Met Gala, including one from her mom Mary who texted her after seeing the AI image. "Ha Feather! Didn't know you went to the Met. What a gorgeous gown, you look like the Rose Parade, you are your own float lol," the text from Katy's mother read.
The Grammy winner replied to her mother, "lol mom the AI got you too, BEWARE!" Sharing the fake images in the same Instagram post, she then clarified in the caption, "couldn't make it to the MET, had to work.
The "Daisy" singer also included a clip of her in what looks like a recording booth. While she appeared to be singing, she muted the footage, seemingly teasing new music that she's currently working on.
The last time Katy attended the Met Gala was in 2022. At the time, she rocked a black dress layered with tulle and featured a train.
